The one Pontiac I owned (‘08 Torrent) treated me very well until it was stolen and I got 8 stacks from the insurance company on a car that needed a new head gasket and 4 tires . I beat the brakes off that thing for a 100k tough DC miles over almost ten years and it never let me down. You could fit a surprising amount of shit in it and it looked OK too.

I seem to have the “ merde” touch when it comes to buying cars from American manufacturers. I had a ‘99 Cougar and ‘08 Torrent, both companies went belly up while I was driving their car. If I get that Regal TourX I’ve been eyeing, it’s curtains for Buick.

I still think you should buy the TourX. Maybe you’ll break the cycle, maybe you’ll confirm amazing powers of brand annihilation, in which case you could easily shove Mitsubishi out the door they’ve eyeing. Not that they sell anything all that great.
